Transneft Western Siberia has commissioned the revamped vertical floating-roof tank (VFRT) with a volume of 20 thousand m3 at the Anzhero-Sudzhensk line operation dispatcher station (LODS) in Kemerovo Region.
The goal of the work conducted was to ensure reliable and safe operation of the tank.
Partial replacement of the tank’s metal structures with a diameter of 45 metres and a height of 12 metres – edges, the bottom and the first belt – was performed. A spot repair of the roof deck, foundation, shaft staircase was carried out, a stiffening ring was installed to ensure strength and stability criteria of the VFRT structures. Auxiliary and main process equipment of the tank was also replaced.
At the end of the construction works, hydraulic testing of the tank to check it for strength and leakages, comprehensive testing of all VFRT systems were carried out. No deviations in the operation of the equipment were found.
Work on updating tank farms of pumping stations is one of the important activities on implementation of the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme of Transneft Western Siberia. Thus, the company ensures compliance with requirements and standards of industrial, fire and environmental safety of operating facilities. For 2021, it is planned to carry out technical upgrading and revamping of tanks with a total volume of more than 125 m3. Transneft Western Siberia will allocate about RUB 800 million for these purposes.
The Anzhero-Sudzhensk LODS is the initial pumping station in the area of responsibility of the Novosibirsk Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate. It receives crude via the Aleksandrovskoye – Anzhero-Sudzhensk and the Omsk – Irkutsk oil trunk pipelines. Oil enters its tank farm for further storage, transportation and delivery to refineries of Siberia.
