Transneft Western Siberia Installs New Mainline Pump at PS in Tomsk Region

Date of publication: 27 August 2020

Specialists of Transneft Western Siberia’s Tomsk Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD) have connected the new main pump unit (MPU) at the Orlovka oil pumping station in Tomsk Region.

MPU replacement works at the facility took 6 months as part of the technical upgrading programme.

The mainline pump manufactured by Transneft Oil Pumps was installed at the Orlovka PS. Among the advantages of the new equipment are increased efficiency and an extended repair interval. The design provides for a special cooling system for edge seals, which allows them to increase their service life and reduce the pump power loss. The maximum capacity of the new pump reaches 10 thousand m3 of oil per hour.

The installation of the new pump will increase the operational reliability of the plant equipment and maintain uninterrupted oil transportation. In the future, remaining three pump units will be replaced at the Orlovka PS.

The connection of the new MPU was carried out as part of the scheduled reduction in volumes of oil transportation at the Aleksandrovskoye – Anzhero-Sudzhensk oil trunk pipeline.

At present, the entire operational infrastructure of the Transneft Western Siberia Orlovka PS and oil transportation are operating under the standard protocol.
