Technical upgrading of tank farms has been launched at the Anzhero-Sudzhensk and Omsk line operation dispatcher stations (LODSs) affiliated with the Omsk and Novosibirsk Regional Oil Pipeline Directorates (RPDs), respectively, both being parts of Transneft Western Siberia.

The tanks are being upgraded under the Company’s Technical Upgrading, Revamping and Overhaul Programme (TUR&OH) for 2018. The decision to technically upgrade four vertical steel floating roof tanks was made upon the completion of a full technical inspection of the tanks. In 2017, professionals of Transneft Diascan (a subsidiary of Transneft) inspected the VFRTs (Vertical Floating-Roof Tanks) No. 10, 11 and 16 at Anzhero-Sudzhensk LODS and the VFRT No. 13 at Omsk LODS and issued their opinion that the inspected facilities needed to be upgraded.

The purpose of the technical upgrading is to ensure safe operation of the tanks. It is planned to allocate RUB 500 million to upgrade the tank farm.

The technical upgrading solutions envisage replacement of the tanks’ metal structure sections that deviate from Transneft’s technical rules and regulations. This will include replacement of a water repellent layer as well as preparation and painting of the internal and external surfaces of the tanks. The works at Anzhero-Sudzhensk LODS’s VFRT No. 11 will include replacement of a total of 19.5 metres of process pipelines and installation of a new floating roof with a stop valve. Under the technical upgrading of the facilities’ utilities, professionals will upgrade electrochemical protection, foam extinguishing, automation and telemetry systems.

As of now, specialists have finished the preparations, dismantled the tank s’ paving, gate valves, nozzlws, taps, load compensation systems for tank walls and other detachable equipment. The dismantled Diogen bottom sediment cleanershave been sentto the manufacturer (TOMZEL) to be repaired.
