Revamping of Rybinskaya – Tayshet section of the Krasnoyarsk – Irkutsk oil trunk pipeline (TP) was finalized in the responsibility area of Krasnoyarsk Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (ROPD) (branch of Transneft Western Siberia).
The length of the section under revamping of the Krasnoyarsk – Irkutsk TP came to approx. 32 km. The work was performed as part of the Technical Upgrading, Revamping and Overhaul Program (TUR&OP) of Transneft Western Siberia facilities. The work included installation, laying down and backfilling of the oil pipeline section. To verify if the facility was ready to take operating loads, the professionals conducted hydraulic tests. After the geometry tool passage was performed, the section was connected to the operating oil trunk pipeline system and the electric and chemical protection system.
Four TP passages over motorways, in particular, over the Baikal federal highway, were also replaced as part of the facility revamping. The passages were replaced using the trenchless method.
КAccording to Mikhail Shmider, Head of Capital Construction Department at Transneft Western Siberia, the revamping of the Rybinskaya – Tayshet facility was carried out in difficult environmental conditions. “Soils in Krasnoyarsk Region are described by heaving, bog formation, flooding, with specific organic ground. Almost 15% of the route is bogged. So to enable reliable operation after the revamping in the TP section, the pipeline was coffered”, he noted.
Professionals used ca. 500 sets of enclosing ballasting devices (EBD) and pig iron ballasting devices (PIBD).
So far, the installation of overhead cable trays, escape valves, wells for covering of escape valve nozzles, and installation of valves were finalized at the facility. Technical reclaiming of TP section was performed; the insignia were installed. The facility is to be commissioned in November 2017.
