Tank VFRT-20000 No.6 was put in service after revamping in Anzhero-Sudzhensk line operation dispatcher station (LODS) of the Novosibirsk regional oil pipeline department (RPD).
The works were performed as part of the pipeline transportation facilities technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul program for 2015, approved by Transneft, JSC, in order to improve their reliability and ensure uninterrupted oil and petroleum products transportation.
Large-scale and highly technical tank revamping activities were performed over 9 month period of the year 2015. Wall, lid and bottom defective sections were replaced (the overall weight of the replaced steel structures amounted over 16 tons), floating roof was repaired, the firefighting system was revamped with simultaneous tank equipping with subsurface suppression system and corrosion protection application to the inner and outer tank surfaces. Bottom sediments washing-out devices, cathodic protection and automation system were upgraded to ensure reliable and safe tank operation.
Following the requirements of Transneft, JSC, VFRT-20000 No. 6 in Anzhero-Sudzhensk LODS was equipped with radar level transmitter – the innovative instrument, designed for oil or petroleum products contact-free level measurement in tanks. Such level transmitter can operate at high working medium temperature and pressure and presents a “smart” device, capable of taking measurements with immediate data processing.
The total capacity of Transneft Western Siberia, JSC, tank farm is 2,061 thousand cubic meters. The following pipeline transportation facilities are provided with the tanks: Omskaya LODS, Omsk LODS, Moskalenki LODS, Anzhero-Sudzhensk LODS, Sokur LODS, Barabinsk LODS, Rybinsk LODS. The tank farm is an integral part of the pipeline transportation system and is designed to accept oil from production companies, meter oil, blend different oil grades and ensure uninterrupted transportation in case of oil and petroleum products irregular or terminated feed. Based on the specification, tanks are provided for the pipe-end pump stations (PEPS) and pump stations (PS), located at the limits of 400 – 600 km long operational sections.
